Christmas is over and now the only thing to look forward to is the snowy cold days of winter. Unless... do you feel like having some fun? Come over to my Altered Book - Mixed Media Workshop and sign up for 3 days of fun! We are going to create a funky little book to give to the one you love on Valentine Day, or maybe just a little special something for someone you love.
These little books are loads of fun to make. You don't have to be an artist. This is for everyone. We aren't going to use expensive supplies. Most of the stuff you find laying around the house, or someone else's ;-) We'll start on a Friday and finish up on Sunday. Come on over and check it out. Don't be left out of all of the fun. I just wanted to take a minute to send you all some Christmas wishes. My wish for you is:
- you are safe and warm with plenty of food in the fridge -you are surrounded by loved ones -you set petty differences aside and enjoy the day -your heart is happy and full of love -you quit worrying if you bought enough -the stress of the economy can be set aside for one day of joy and thankfulness -you hug all your family and friends and tell them that you love them -you remember why we are celebrating this day It sounds so simple, but there are many people out there who just want to be warm, fed and loved. I for one feel blessed beyond words for all my family and friends! I can't think of anything else I really need. Oh, yes.... there is one thing... that flippin' Kindle Fire that has been taunting me all week from the mantle!!!! Merry Christmas :-) I dabble in the creation of jewelry from time to time. I sold a necklace to a co-worker a few weeks back. On it hung a pendant with a picture of an octopus. She wore it in front of her best friend, Nina Cunningham, who happens to be a well know artist in town. Nina did a sketch of an Octopus and posted it on FaceBook. I commented and said it had inspired me to try my hand at painting an octopus.... and the challenge began. Kelly Barton said she would join us, and so did Missie Bickel .
And that is how a challenge begins :-) It's really fun seeing all the different spins on one subject. I can't wait to see if Missie picks up a brush or crochets an octopus. Come join us. We are trying to have them completed by December 30th. I'll post the completed art here. Merry Christmas you all! |
